and from other numerous sources-The Mecklenburg Signers.William was appointed by the General Assembly in 1768 to collect taxes for the
new county of Tryons, set up from the Western territory of what had been
regarded for several years as Mecklenburg County.
A professor in Spartanburg, SC. Had two daughters wjp were the first and
second wives of Matthew Patton-a frontier scout during the revolution.
Possibly related to other Pattons in family.

1850 and 1860 census Jackson Co., AL (1860 poor handwriting looks like
Joshah). May have a brother James.Dan, My gggrandmother was a Webb, her name was Mary Ann, she and her sister
(Blind) were adopted by Joseph Webb and his wife. I do not know their birth name. I
contacted Rebel and told her because I have an Ala. connection and Tn. Joseph Web
lived in Roberson Co. when he adopted the girls 1850.in 1880 the census showed
Mary Ann married to Lorenzo D. Ferguson and living with her mother and father and
L.D in Davidson county Tn. I don' know anything about the Webbs were abouts from
1850 to 1880. THey may have moved to Ala. or moved elsewhere, I just got this info
and its new to me. I need to go to the Library but my cousin researched this info I just
gave you. In the very early 1900s Mary A. and L.D. Ferguson moved to Al and are
shown on the soundex 1910 census living in Morgan Co. Al.,Does any of this ring a bell
