William Porter Garvin

Charlie and my Ggrandfather (James Henry Garvin) were full brothers, sons of
William Porter Garvin and his second wife Rhoda (Chapman) Garvin. It's a
long story, but Rhoda divorced W.P. Garvin and he married her sister as his
third wife. Rhoda disappeared from the family after the divorce. We heard
she married a Mr. Harrison
and had other children, but I have found no proof of this. Also have been
unable to
find her place of burial, to my regret. I have the Chapman family history if
you would like to have it. I have some pictures of W.P. and his children if
you would like to have copies. They are only zeroxed copies, but they are
pretty clear.
children of William Porter
Garvin by his various wives:

By first wife, Frances J. "Fanny" Perkins he had:

1. Oliver "Floyd" Garvin, (b. 11 Oct 1866, Bowling Green, KY - d. 8 Mar
1908, Collin County, TX). Floyd married Sarah T. "Texie" Hightower 17 Jul
1890 in Grayson County, TX. Buried Whitesboro, TX. [two daughters: Zula Z.
Garvin - d. 1912 age about 20, and Vaughn D. Garvin].

2. Margaret E. "Lizzie" Garvin (b. 15 Mar 1869, Bowling Green, KY - d. 23 Jul
1941,
Grayson County, TX). Lizzie married John Wesley "Jack" Vigus, 18 Sept 1887 in
Grayson County, TX. Buried Whitesboro, TX. [children: Mary Vigus, Robert
Vigus, Icie Vigus Midkiff, Nettie Vigus Rolen, Dela Vigus Fox, and Lois Vigus
(died 1919 age 11).
